Hyundai Motor Group held the Grand Opening Ceremony of its $12.6 billion Metaplant America

It’s a great time to be with Hyundai and Genesis! Hyundai Motor Group held the Grand Opening Ceremony of its $12.6 billion Metaplant America this Wednesday (3/26/25) just outside Savannah, Georgia. This represents the largest single investment in Georgia’s history.

The Metaplant is a technological marvel of automation and precision.  Originally slated to produce 300,000 vehicles per year, HMG announced the expansion of this Metaplant to produce up to 500,000 electric and hybrid vehicles annually. The economic impact of this Metaplant is vast – 8,500 direct jobs at HMGMA, with a total impact of 40,000 direct and indirect jobs created. To date, HMG’s investments in the United States have created and supported 570,000 jobs nationwide.

Just days before this Grand Opening Ceremony, at the White House, HMG announced investment of $21 billion in the United States from 2025 to 2028 (which includes a $5.8 billion investment in a Hyundai Steel plant in Louisiana).
